Snoaring

Snoaring — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 August 2026

Snoaring records audio while you sleep in order to detect and log snoring. This policy explains exactly what is collected, what stays on your phone, and what leaves it.

The short version. Snoring detection runs entirely on your device — continuous audio is never uploaded. Only short clips of detected snoring are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate your nightly report, and only when that feature runs. Your recordings are stored on your phone and are deleted when you uninstall the app.

What the app collects

DataWhyWhere it goes
Microphone audio while a sleep session is active To detect snoring Processed on your device in memory. Continuous audio is never saved or uploaded.
Short snoring clips (up to 20 seconds each, up to 60 per night) So you can listen back, and for the nightly analysis Stored on your device. A small number of the loudest clips are sent to Google's Gemini API when a report is generated.
Snore statistics — episode times, durations, loudness Nightly reports and trends Stored on your device.
Device motion (accelerometer) To detect when you fall asleep and wake up Processed on your device. Never uploaded.
Email address and password To create your account and carry your purchase across devices Firebase Authentication (Google). Passwords are never visible to us.
Purchase record — store transaction id and licence status To unlock the app you paid for and restore it on a new device Cloud Firestore (Google). Payment itself is handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.

What runs on your device

Snore detection is fully offline. Audio is analysed on your phone by a small neural network bundled with the app. No network connection is needed to record a night, and no continuous audio stream ever leaves your device.

What leaves your device

Two things, and only these:

Nothing is sold, shared with advertisers, or used for tracking. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.

How long it is kept

Snore clips and reports live on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes all local recordings and sleep data. Account and licence records remain in Firebase until you ask for deletion, so your purchase can be restored.

Deleting your data

To remove local recordings and reports, delete them in the app or uninstall it. To delete your account and purchase record, email the address below and we will remove it. Deleting your account ends access to a purchase that was tied to it.
